In the Panamanian society and most of the latin america, we have to live with corruption. This is not just a problem of the political system or the bad structure of the government. We live so close to the poverty. We have to tolerate everyday somebody trying to lie us.
I was in a march against Odebrecht corruption and the authorities don’t respond us. The actual president Juan Carlos Varela has been criticized because he doesn’t look like a capable leader, now he demonstrate us that it’s true. He can’t beat the corruption of this country because he is vinculated to it.
Recently the civil society (a conglomerate of movements for the democracy and others) ask to the president for the list of donators of his presidential campaign. He put on media a partially certificated list by a institution without credibility, the Electoral Tribunal (organism of veedurity for electoral rounds).

Odebrecht make donations to the campaign across diferents corporations very difficult to identify. but the people knows, because -Odebrecht- wins all the projects for publics infrastructure since this government rules.
Transparency International put panama at the place 38 of the most corrupt nations world wide. Peru, Brazil, Colombia (with his nobel prize) and Dominican Republic has similar records.
I can’t believe that we have to live in the poorest countries just because this is latin america, that’s not is a sufficient answer for me, I believe we can do it better, we can beat the violence and the drugs, but first the principal enemy of all us is corruption.
I walk against Odebrecht, just because I believe in us.
